Croeso Nol! Welcome Back!

After a sunny summer, which I hope everyone enjoyed, it is a pleasure to welcome all our amazing children and families back to 'OUR' school! Listening to the laughter and seeing all the smiling faces has been a joy! It has been great to see the children catching up with their friends and teachers as we begin what will be an incredible year at Waunarlwydd Primary School! Our 'Long, long, ago' topic has begun with the children and staff planning some superb learning experiences together!

Meet the teacher

There will be an opportunity for you to meet your child's teacher, learn about the plans for the year ahead and ask any questions. These will take place on the following dates:

Years 4, 5 and 6 – Wednesday 16th September (14.45)

Years 1, 2 and 3 – Thursday September 17th (14.45)

Nursery - Date to follow

(*Reception parents met with Mrs Melen at the end of the summer term)

After School Childcare Provision

After School Childcare provision will continue. This is an external provision which will be provided by Baby Bug day Nursery on school grounds. If you would like to collect a registration pack, they are available in the school office.

Welsh Government, Local Authority and the Education Welfare Service have made improving attendance and punctuality at schools a priority. Any concerns regarding your child’s attendance will need to be discussed and the Education Welfare Officer will request to be involved if low attendance meets the threshold for external involvement. If you have any concerns regarding attendance, please don’t hesitate in getting in touch.

We are extremely lucky to have such an active PTA. Following another successful year, our wonderful PTA would love to welcome new members. If you would like to be involved, then please get in touch with Lara Sturgess (Chair) or the school!

Remember this is ‘OUR SCHOOL’ and, as always, if you have any queries or concerns, don’t hesitate in making contact!

Have a great half-term!

Mr Jamie Evans
