Croeso Nol - Welcome Back
As we begin this new school year, our school community does so with both hopes for the year ahead and deep sadness at the loss we have suffered. The passing of Bonnie has touched us all profoundly, and our thoughts will remain with her family and friends. In moments like these, the strength of our school community lies in the way we support one another with kindness, compassion, and care. Together, we will ensure that Bonnie is remembered with love and that her kindness and spirit will always be part of our school.
Croeso Nol
It has been wonderful to welcome all the children back to 'OUR' school. It has been a privilege to see the smiles and listen to the laughter as they all settle in to their new classes. Our 'Marvellous Me' topic has been introduced with some very interesting fashion choices on show in the 'Guess the teacher' baby and toddler photo challenge. It promises to be a very exciting term and the children and teachers have thoroughly enjoyed planning the weeks ahead. Please remember that if you have any questions or ideas, don't hesitate in getting in touch.
Meet the teacher
There will be an opportunity for you to meet your child's teacher, learn about the plans for the year ahead and ask any questions. These will take place on the following dates:
Years 4, 5 and 6 – Tuesday September 9th (14.45)
Years 1, 2 and 3 – Wednesday September 10th (14.45)
Nursery - Monday 15th September (9.00)
(*Reception parents met with Mrs Melen at the end of the summer term)
After School Childcare Provision
We will be trialling an After School Childcare provision from Monday 15th September. This is an external provision which will be provided by Baby Bug day Nursery on school grounds. If you would like to collect a registration pack, they are available in the school office.
Attendance and Punctuality
Welsh Government, Local Authority and the Education Welfare Service have made improving attendance and punctuality at schools a priority. Any concerns regarding your child’s attendance will need to be discussed and the Education Welfare Officer will request to be involved if low attendance meets the threshold for external involvement. If you have any concerns regarding attendance, please don’t hesitate in getting in touch.
PTA
Following last year’s incredible successes, our wonderful PTA have more amazing plans aimed at enhancing the experiences for our pupils. More details to follow soon! If you would like to be involved, then please get in touch with Lara Sturgess (Chair) or the school!
Advice needed
We are hoping to improve the front of our school with a rockery and plants. If any of our green-fingered parents or family members would be able to offer any advice, please let us know. Diolch!
Social Media
While social media (e.g. Whatsapp groups) has its benefits we would prefer that any concerns regarding the school are brought to our attention directly so that they can be addressed. We will continue to promote our ‘open door’ policy and the message that this is ‘OUR SCHOOL’ so please don’t hesitate in getting in touch with any concerns, questions or ideas. Many thanks!
It’s great to back! Have a lovely weekend!
Diolch pawb!
Mr Jamie Evans
