Latest News - Friday September 13th
It's been a fun-filled first week back at Waunarwlydd School. Our 'Tell me a story' topic has begun in earnest and the school has been full of learning and laughter. It was great to see so many of you in school this week to 'meet the teacher' and we hope you found it worthwhile. If you have any follow-up questions please let us know. For those that could not attend, we will get all the information out to you, or you can find it on our new website.
Please take a look https://www.waunarlwydd.swansea.sch.uk/ There will undoubtedly be some technical teething problems, so if you have any issues let us know. Diolch!
Parent/carer workshops
Following parental feedback, we would like to offer more opportunities for families to learn about aspects of school life. We will be holding a series of 'parent/carer workshops' over the coming weeks. It would be great to see you at school (there may even be a cuppa and a biscuit on offer). Initial dates are as follows:
Friday September 20th (either 9.00 OR 14.40) - 'Introduction to SeeSaw'
Friday September 27th (either 9.00 OR 14.40) - 'Reading Eggs and all it has to offer'
Friday October 4th (either 9.00 OR 14.40) - 'My Maths - more than just a homework task.'
If you have any ideas about other workshops we could offer around aspects of school life, please get in touch.
CAMHS in-reach
Alongside our school - led workshops, Fran, our CAMHS In-reach worker will be offering parent/carer workshops around several emotional wellbeing topics. The first 2 dates are as follows:
Tuesday 1st October (14.40) - Emotional Regulation
Tuesday 19th November (14.40) - 5 steps to Wellbeing
More information about the CAMHS in-reach service can be found below:
After school clubs
After school clubs will begin next Wednesday for Years 2 to 6 (Year 1 clubs will begin in the Spring term). We have asked for the pupils' opinions on which clubs should run and have planned around their responses. You will receive a form to sign you child up on Monday. Please be aware that some clubs will have a limit on numbers. Diolch!
Dates for the diary
Following parental feedback, we aim to give plenty of notice regarding school events. With that in mind, we have tried to organise the whole of the Autumn term in advance. On Monday we will be issuing a calendar with dates from now until Christmas to support your planning.
Remember, as always, if you have any queries, concerns or ideas, don’t hesitate in making contact! Have a wonderful weekend!
Diolch pawb!
